Even if it really means List-of-Things-I’m-Gonna-Buy-Myself-at-After-Christmas-Sales. Because really, when it comes to gifts, I’d rather have presence than presents. Let’s gift each other spending time together—while doing cool things.
Christmas Gifts that Are Not Material That I’d Like:
- Tickets to an NFL football game. Will travel for tickets.
- Wine-tasting.
- Catalina.
- Someone planning a hiking + camping trip for me (hello, Big Sur birthday! I plant the seed, my friends plan. The best.)
- Aspen. Mammoth road trip. Jackson. PC. I don’t care, I just need to ski.
I really am lucky enough to have everything I need—or the ability to buy what I want, when I want it (within moderation, of course!!). I am trying to live minimally, purging my closet and piles of “stuff”, but that doesn’t mean I’m entirely free of material wants and the latest-and-greatest in fashion. Leather jacket? A new black one would be handy. Updated booties? Of course I want them. So much closet envy on Pinterest. But I realize I don’t NEED that stuff. More stuff I don’t need follows, in list form.
List of things I will probably buy myself later after I have yearned for them even longer than I have now:
- The hottest (har) new travel mug
- Pendelton x Ugg – these disappeared from Ugg’s website! Will I have to scour eBay? Are they gone forever?!
- Tiffany Keychain (lost mine in Big Sur, so sad. Got it on my very first job.)
- Stripes Chaturanga Tights from Athleta (I’ve been coveting these for over six months, so you know they’re not just another pair of leggings)
- This finishing powder is about the only Urban Decay product I haven’t yet tried that I really want to. [Click here for my raves on other Urban Decay products]
- Look, I know everyone and their mom (except my mom, hi mom) has Nike Pros. Which is why I can’t be a basic b and get the same ones as everyone else, I need the impossible-to-find purple splatter-painted ones. Here. From the UK. Customs be damned.
- [updated] A tiny star necklace and/or anklet. This etsy seller sells both, which is highly convenient. But I might rather have gold. Can’t decide (why I haven’t just bought it for myself).
