My first art sale!
I’m working on an Emotion series, and the first piece from it sold today! To a very important art collector and amazing supporter of my art!
Also, I cut my hair even shorter! I asked for “edgier” and that it is. I love it.
Now, onto the topics no one can get enough of … just in time for COVID-19 Coronavirus self-quarantine:
As recently as last night I was looking up $32 flights to Colombia or Canada or Montana or Salt Lake and contemplating traveling—I’ve got the time, and it will never be cheaper.
But I started to realize a few things: this isn’t about me, this is about community, and social good. I do a lot of things that I believe are best for the community, planet, or future but don’t directly impact me: recycling, for instance, or giving blood. But these things have concrete outcomes: less plastic required; a life saved. Whereas my not-traveling doesn’t have a clear outcome other than me staying at home: will I not spread the virus? I HAVE NO IDEA.
But, does the possibility of not spreading the virus whether I get it or not, and flattening the curve, make sense from a social good perspective? Yes. Given that I already work remotely and am going through a relatively low socializing period, I’ve been staying home anyway. Why stop now?
Besides, how else will I become me again?!
