I Bumbled last Friday for a wedding date on Saturday, and he turned out to be awesome. He’s sure to star in the dancing portion of the wedding video, he signed a hilarious message in the guestbook, and he even posed for awkward prom pictures with me. Will I see him again? Who knows—and, really, who cares?
YOGA > YOLO on Sunday resulted in a great time, and I’m thrilled I went—plus it led to checking out a new yoga class this week.
I’m YOLOing again this weekend. I can only hope it goes half as well as last weekend’s YOLOs.
I’m most grateful that all of this is FUN. I’m grateful for my friends, sharing these experiences with me so that we can laugh so hard I snort (it doesn’t take much, honestly). I’m grateful for group texts and side texts and a panicked email when a phone died during a critical point in the group-text-decision-making. I’m grateful for gchat.
And, because my mom needed some clarification on this point, let me make it clear: YOLOing is not about just doing whatever the eff you want (though it might look like it). YOLOing is about taking the risks, taking the chances, ignoring the doubts/fears, and being present. It does NOT mean saying yes to everything. It means saying yes to the things that make you uncomfortable but excited.
Perhaps ironically, YOLO is even about ownership and clarity. Ah, 2017.
