Jackson Hole ski trip was hilariously successful and I still feel like I haven’t seen Jackson because it was snowing the entire time! Where are the sweeping views??
Quick Hits: 5 Jackson Hole Recs
Teton Thai (Teton Village) – More than one person has said this is the best Thai they’ve ever had, and I can’t disagree. Expect to pay for that accolade, though, as the cheapest version of pad thai is $22.
Bodega (Teton Village) – Mostly a locals stop, their to-go Sloshies (apparently the official drink of Jackson Hole) are $7.50, strong, and delicious. The entire base village is open container, so really any drink can be to-go, but these were the first guys to tell us that.
Glorietta’s (Jackson) – We changed dinner plans after walking by this restaurant and smelling it, and weren’t disappointed. Phenomenal handmade pastas, and the bar scene is definitely one for people-watching.
The Restaurant at the White Buffalo Club (Jackson) – Locals all know about the $10 burger-and-beer happy hour but I’m down with the half-price glasses of wine. Skip the bone marrow, it’s not worth even its $10 happy hour price.
Casper Restaurant on mountain: 3 for $5 jello shots. Put a few in your pocket for extra-cold lift moments.
Bonus rec: do not leave at 5am to drive to Salt Lake City airport and choose the “scenic” route you haven’t yet driven that goes over Teton Pass: you STILL can’t see shit and you’ll drive over snowy mountain passes that are probably beautiful in daylight but you’re still 2 hours away from that joy.
Gratitude List
- ART! It’s keeping me creative as my writing juices are … stalled? Less motivated? Unclear, but grateful for paint right now.
- Yoga & ABP & Hyde Park Gym … the closest things I have to routine 🙂
- Olga’s soup and boneless beef short ribs
- The friendos that picked me up at LAX the worst airport ever and just feel like home.
