“Let’s just pretend I move here in September” I said this past weekend, because I haven’t spent much time in Austin since “moving back”.
I am grateful, however, for the really awesome friends I have here and the exciting things falling in to place to set me up for a wonderful fall in Austin.
But right now I feel most grateful that I got to wakesurf! And I did it! And threw the rope! And it was so much more fun than wakeboarding! Probably because I’m able to actually do it …
A Thursday night wakesurf sesh was just what I needed after an intense week at work and at home (literally), with negotiating lil Bryker and its contingency coming off, selling big Bryker, and—oh yeah—planning my upcoming Europe trip. Which doesn’t even cover last weekend, which while including such awesome activities as PrimeNow-ing a kiddie pool to my house and drinking White Claws in it, having my dad pick some grown-ass adults up for drinks on the Mt. Bonnell deck, and a party barge and party cove time, was intense.
Being out on the water, though, melts all that stress right off. And learning a new skill is always exhilarating, and gets you out of your head.
It’s amazing how water always heals.
Other things I’m grateful for include Bachelorette, snacks, temporary digs, catching up with one of my dearest friends, working remotely, business Lyssa/personal Lyssa, and, always, Nali. Urban adventures with her over near my elementary school have been super fun while we’re living in temporary digs. That dog is the best.
