Uncomfortable | FGF 022125

I am grateful for the ability to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

For instance, my latest LinkedIn post: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7298488105278287884/

I am also grateful for all the comforts of home: how cozy my house is, how much I love my office, how we have a beautiful dining room table to host dinners and big fluffy couch to retire to, how comfortable our bed is, how light and bright the house is, even when it’s cold af and dreary outside. I’m grateful for the comfort of a warm bath, a king-size fleece pendleton (a bromance rec to use king-size blankets that I will never not be grateful for), and a fire roaring in the fire place.

I’m grateful for Marriage Certificate Trio brownies (slightly undercooked)(recipe here), pumpkin seed cornmeal (the last vestiges from a farm way back in the family somewhere?!) loaves (HAND-KNEADED, people), and comforting soup, all of which I made this week. Call me cozy!

I’m grateful too for the gate fix my husband made up that works, for garage workouts and sunshine and neighbros and my hammock and kindle and Our Woman in Moscow and Libby for digital library checkouts and latte a la dada and Sunday family dinners and Mushashino and Cabo Bob’s and Bob who is just the best boy in the whole world and garlic bread, just in general, that last one.

When there’s so much comfort and joy in life, discomfort is manageable, even, good. And I’m really, really grateful for that.
