Yes, it’s true, I am in love with the summer scarf. I have been for quite some time. It differs from the winter scarf mainly in its weight, but also in color and fashion of wearing. This is an accessory, people, and you gotta adorn yourself with it. Pick light, gauzy fabrics in breezy colors, toss it around your neck–loop it if you want, maybe throw one end over a shoulder, maybe fold it in half and wrap it around, tucking one end through the loop you made–just make it easy and casual.
My mom recently rocked the summer scarf on an afternoon shopping excursion with a tank and skirt. As we stepped into another store, the Texas A/C (which is a totally different brand of A/C than normal air conditioning … this stuff is COLD) blasted us and she said, “See, this is why you wear summer scarves!” as she wrapped her scarf around her bare shoulders.
Preaching to the choir, Mama. I already love the Summer Scarf.
Dear Aunt Donnie, you too can wear the summer scarf. Just throw it on. Wear it with a plain button-up, tee or tank. You’ll be surprised at how fashionable it feels. Sometimes Mom just wears hers in a ‘U’ around her neck–no looping or tossing over the shoulder required. Just try it! Love, Lyssa.
