Yep, I’ve fled our fair city for the big one. I’m having a ball, but I’m also amazed by how excited people are about Austin here. Anyone I’ve gotten into a conversation with about where I’m from has said, “Oh I love Austin!” or “I want to go there!” We know Austin is hot on the national radar, but who knew it was really in the hearts and minds of everyone I meet?
What’s up next for Austin? With so many condos and downtown growth, as well as the East Austin explosion, where are we headed? Of course, we’ve all been asking ourselves this for awhile. My fave thing about New York is how walkable it is! It’s due in part to the subway system, but also to how densely packed all the neighborhoods are. I’d like to think that Austin can someday be as accessible, at least by bike. Speaking of, I need to check out Lance’s Mellow Johnny’s ..
