It is gorgeous outside. I am going there as soon as I finish typing this gratitude list. I might make this list shorter than I intended to in order to get there faster.
I got to ride my bike! 20 mins, easy peasy, but thrilling: the air on my skin! The wind in my hair! The houses passing by somewhere between quickly and slowly!
I also go to jump rope, and play on the agility ladder, and do some more athletic movements. IT. FEELS. SO. GOOD.
It’s also shockingly humbling, because I am out of breath in a way I have not been in a long, long time … ever?
I went standup paddleboarding last Friday, and it was perfect and awesome.
This is the best 3-4 weeks of the year in Austin, and I have tiny amounts of mobility and I am so unbelievably grateful. I have always loved this time of year but am appreciating it in an even deeper way than ever before.
We spent an absolutely gorgeous evening in my childhood best friend’s perfectly-designed backyard, complete with a stunning adult cocktail pool, beautiful plants, and the most insane snack, cheese, and fruit boards around.
Childhood bestie spectated rugby with me, and it was so fun. We haven’t done something like that in well over a decade… adorable. And I still have a sensitive stomach 😉
Work is hard. Work is fun in that way.
I had a workcation last week, which was a client event at a resort that was centered around making sure they were relaxing—naturally meaning I was not. But it was pretty great, and I really, really love my company, coworkers, and clients.
My global CEO texted me yesterday happily letting me know he found Goldschlager in Toronto.
Kinfolk, in the basement of Moonshine, is one of the coolest bars I have been to in years. It’s also the only fancy-cocktail bar I’ve ever been to where the servers and bartenders are genuinely happy to be there and share their knowledge, with nary a hint of snobbery. Amazing.
I’ve had some breakdowns over the past two weeks, feeling overwhelmed with options, pressures, wants, and needs of myself and others. I feel like this is a natural progression of my achilles injury—perhaps when my incredible PT Katie said ‘two steps forward, one step back’, she didn’t mean physically…
But how lucky am I to have so many friends, so many potential adventures, so much opportunity for love and fun?
I joined an executive women’s leadership group. #madeit
I LOVE the outtakes at the end of our recap episode of CX Detectives.
I love my team at work. They are all incredible.
So grateful for a Shatzi. What a cool human.
Y’all, had some sports acupuncture at 512 Wellness with Ann Mowat and holy hell if my achilles didn’t almost instantly get so much more mobility! I think she actually released a ton of crap around the ankle, but we also got some blood flowing through the achilles tendon. Amazing!
Am now adding this to my regular wellness routine (which currently includes physical therapy, mental therapy, and cryotherapy lol).
Now I will go mow my lawn. I am so grateful for my yard, my avocado trees, my plumbagos, lil Frank the fig, new outdoor pillows, and my hammock.
