I am so grateful, for this most trying, amazing, high and low, peak- and valley-filled year.
I am grateful for this absolutely ridiculous Christmas week, which saw me bounce from San Antonio to Sonoma to Houston back to Austin in just 6 days…
- San Antonio generations girls getaway at the gorgeous Hotel Emma in the Pearl. No detail left undone, the stay was fantastic. The food was amazing. The rooms were carefully considered and cozy. The company—my mom and two of her best friends, plus one of their daughters—was laughs a mile a minute. But the morning in-room coffee service? I’ll have that every day please.
- Sonoma wine country Christmas was beyond anything I could have hoped for. The warmest welcome, fabulous family time, and …
- DaVero, one of my absolute favorite wineries ever. A working biodynamic farm specializing in Mediterranean-style grapes (in Sonoma!), every single wine I’ve tried there has been absolutely delicious. We got the full garden tasting experience this time, and it was absolute magic.
- Despite a veeeery long Christmas day travel day, it was worth it to see my grandma, my favorite old-man-baby cousin-nephew, and family we hardly ever get to see.
- My fam took care of and took Nali to Houston without me, so I could meet here there, and it makes me so happy to have the village raising the 13-year-old puppa.
- Even grateful for taking the stupid Tesla, because we had silly Starbucks Scattegories time waiting on it to charge.
- And then the best immediate-family impromptu Christmas, with a divine meal thrown together, The Farm wine, and presents on presents (I got some of these!).
- Let’s not forget to wrap it up with girls mani-pedis from my aunt, a pampering way to wrap up a long, crazy, amazing, love-and-travel-filled week!
- And now I rest. At least until NYE!
