Since it’s summer, I’ve been walking around totally barefoot. No barefoot shoes. Just toes in the grass, on the dirt, whatever. I took an hour walk with the dawg barefoot. 30 minutes at the park. Being totally, completely, 100% barefoot is AWESOME.

My Favorite Places
For an advisory position I’m fulfilling this coming week (more about that later!), I had to list my favorite places. As I sat down with both Austin and Aspen categories, I realized that the majority of my fave places are fitness-and-outdoors-related. No surprise, right? In Aspen: Bleeker Street, King Yoga, Rio Grande Trail, Jimmy’s, and…

Aspen: Off-Season in Aspen
This is Nali visiting one of her fave people at a hotel in town. This may also be the first time she’s ever stood up on her back legs to greet a person not in my immediate family. We were just out strolling the town last night and stopped in to chat with said person…
Tabata My Arms Off
… or, My Legs Are Too Sore and Bruised To Work Out Any More After a bike ride to and from town, which I will probably repeat tonight as I head in for a cookout and live music show, I hit the dog park and its bright green grass for an arm-heavy tabata workout. After…

With recent rains, the creek was flowing quickly, the weather was a perfect 65 degrees, and my Vibrams were perfect water-mud-rock combo shoes. Nali, my beloved rescue mutt pup,…

101X Summer Film Series
Summer in Austin features tons of free concerts, movies, and other events in the great outdoors. Really, this doesn’t quite make sense since it’s hot, hot, hot in the summer, but hey, I guess we give balmy summer nights a chance to work their magic. First stop on the balmy summer night tour? 101x &…

The last of the Solar-Powered Concert Series in Republic Square Park is tomorrow night, and the TBA closer is Fastball–yep, middle school/high school hotties Fastball, of You’re an Ocean, Out of My Head, and other gems, will be playing. With the Black & White Years, an Austin-based band that has tons of local acumen and…
