This marks the FOURTH weekend IN A ROW that I’ve been in Austin, without plans. This is (the last weekend) a record since I moved back, and probably a record for a long time in wherever I called home. It was very intentional, and it’s been very, very fun—but, actually really challenging as well.
It’s brought to light friends, friend groups, lack thereof, dating, dating issues, complications, conflicting priorities, spending habits, and more. All just here for me to sit in, rather than running away to somewhere else.
Which is good for me.
But, hard. Staying home is hard.
And I LOVE it here (Austin). I LOVE the things I’ve gotten to experience staying home (Austin), the life I’ve continued to build amidst the chaos and confusion and conundrum.
But! Amidst that, I am grateful for home. Grateful for work, which has ramped UP. Grateful for spontaneity and Barton Springs and biking and VonLane and living next door to my brother and coworker friendships and Hyde Park Gym and hanging out in a bathrobe at home…
