So you’re not a real celeb with a fabulous mansion in Palm Springs within walking distance to the festival, or with your own driver. Faux celebs, have no fear, you can still have the most fabulous time at Stagecoach (California’s Country Music Festival that brings up lovely memories of the ill-fated, one-run Big State Festival) with the following Stagecoach Packing & Scheduling Secrets.
PACKING LIST:
- Do not forget the bandana! And allergy meds. It’s dusty.
- Las Bayadas = good move. Lightweight beach blanket/towel/wrap/sun cover/everything.
- Fanny. Pack. You don’t need a drink holder, you just need space for your stuff.
- More of those weird crochet sexy robe things you never think you’d need but you definitely need if you’re going to stagecoach. Forget trying to be authentic, it’s better done like a 3-day costume party. (fwiw I wear that white fringed skirt NOT like a costume… like on regular nights out)
- The regular stuff: sunscreen, shorts, tanks, snacks, socks that work in your boots, boots, flip flops for when you don’t wanna wear boots
SCHEDULE:
Here is the (drinking and eating) schedule, do not stray:
Wake up: Irish coffee + avocado toast
Pool time: cocktails
EAT LUNCH
Shuttle to the venue
Maybe you nurse a beer or sneak in some mini bottles (in the boot) and add them to sweet tea or lemonade, maybe you don’t. Too many people miss the music because they’re too drunk—you don’t have to! You can enjoy your drunk vacay AND all the amazing dulcet sounds of country music over wind, dust, and outside, which is amazing and not to be missed.
Eat dinner. Oddly the vegan burger is far better than the crab fries. Can’t explain it.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
You must book a place with a pool. Absolute game-changer. Sure, it might have been nice to be on the grounds and not have to shuttle, but the shuttle wasn’t bad and having access to the pool was amazing. Rent a house, camp at the RV park, whatever, just make sure you get pool access. It will make your weekend 1000% better.
