Ski CrossFit

CrossFit is awesome preparation for skiing. I hit the slopes for only my third time ever with my highly-advanced, born-on-skis That Ripped Guy of Mine(TM) coaching me and I was tearing down the mountain by the end of the day. Ok, well, turning up the greens. But still.

My turn mantra went something like this:

Deadlift stance, Pole Out, Weight in the heels, Weight on the outside foot … ski … Deadlift stance, Pole Out, Weight in the heels, Weight on the outside foot … ski … Deadlift stance, Pole Out, Weight in the heels, Weight on the outside foot …

Yes, people, the deadlift stance is the perfect skiing stance: feet shoulder-width apart, chest up, butt down, but higher than squat stance. AWESOME!

I’m tackling ALL blues tomorrow with smaller boots and longer skis (I’m SO advanced now), can’t WAIT!!

Plus, the other two times I tried (in December and January), I didn’t even get sore–thanks, CrossFit!–so let’s hope the same holds true for me tomorrow …
