I was sick for most of this week, a low-grade, not-horrible, completely rundown, foggy-brained sickness. I move/think/talk fast—but this week, I just couldn’t (thx to my work wife for the birthday mug), and it was eye-opening. I think it’s mostly because I’m sick of some things in my life or that I’ve been doing, although there was also a (brief) change in weather that gave me the runny nose/watery eyes stuff. Overall, I have to say, I am so grateful for my health. This week was certainly a reminder.
There’s also some great advice for helping pull yourself out of a funk (not that I’m out … just on the way) from this article. Cliff’s Notes:
- Ask “What am I grateful for?” No answers? Doesn’t matter. Just searching helps.
- Label those negative emotions. Give it a name and your brain isn’t so bothered by it.
- Decide. Go for “good enough” instead of “best decision ever made on Earth.”
- Hugs, hugs, hugs. Don’t text — touch.
