One of my favorite things about my bachelorette party was the night we had a fancy chef cook for us—clad in matching Gap Vintage Soft sweatsuits, embroidered with their nicknames.
So this season, I was more than ready to pick up a sweater set, despite the fact that it’s still 90 degrees in Texas. I ordered a few from Gap. My loving handsome helpful humanitarian warrior’s eyes bugged out at the size of the box on the porch, but most of it is going back… These are all Gap’s CashSoft which is Cotton 53%, Nylon 47% (nary a hint of cashmere, don’t be fooled).
Here’s what I’m keeping:
This deep green CashSoft cable knit set is soft, cozy, and long enough in the Tall! I ordered the sweater in large for extra coziness, but it’s also necessary for length. Mine was not as long as the one on the model. I kept this set because I looooove cable knit.
This delicious red ribbed suit is gorgeous, but—believe it or not!—was TOO LONG for me in a Tall. Incredible. The medium sweater was this length, and the set is super duper cozy. Gap runs frequent sales, so I might revisit purchasing this in the future either in regular length or a smaller tall size 😉
I actually like the style of this beige set the most – plain sweater (no rib or cable knit), zip up hoody, pants with pockets and a drawstring. But despite having the same fabric content, it’s rougher in texture (not cozy) and both the top and bottom are shorter than expected, so it’s going back.
Other bloggers I follow tout these types of sweater sets (usually from somewhere more expensive! but also maybe real cashmere) as polished airplane sets, but I can’t see myself wandering through an airport all but wearing a blanket—without pockets at that. This is more cozying-up-on-the-couch attire for me.
Now to begin my snow dance … or at least below-70 dance.
