OK, that’s not true, I’ll mainly be seeing myself at Sectionals … but I did go ahead and compete in the first WOD. It’ll only get harder from here as I have to film myself doing the WODs … in my “normal” commercial gym … awkward! But nonetheless, I am committed.
My first go at the Sectionals WOD 1 (10 min AMRAP 30 doubleunders, 15 power snatch 55#) was a disappointment. I am not good at doubleunders, and even though I’ve been working on them I apparently haven’t been working enough (that or my billy blanks boxing rope at the gym is better than these Again Faster speed ropes I borrowed). I can only hope the next WOD is better for me. Either way, it’s nice having a goal to strive for!
Training: Hit RedBlack again yesterday for more playtime, it was a lot of fun. A mini-WOD I need to remember to do on my own with my rocks in Nature’s Garage Gym:
90 seconds max press (push press … jerk … depending on how tired you get) 25# kbs
90 seconds max pushups
60 seconds max press
60 seconds max pushups
30 seconds max press
30 seconds max pushups
… it’s surprising how tired your poor little arms get!
Then running Christine (it’s fun to have running plus lifting back in the workout! I can’t do that easily at my gym in Aspen or at Nature’s Garage Gym):

400M Run
12 Bodyweight deadlifts (155#)
21 box jumps
time: 9:39
Now if only the sun would come out … SUN’S OUT GUNS OUT!
(the apostrophe on that statement is a tough one, since the sun-is contraction isn’t technically correct but sounds great when you say it … typing it is another story)
