Happy early wear loads of red, white, and blue day. I’m on a boat (maybe).
Lake Union float
Last weekend, however, I was on a float!
Pride Parade float
Seattle! I was visiting the person I still call my roommate though she now lives in another city in another state with a different roommate aka her boyfriend. It was an absolutely glorious weekend of wandering the city from her urban apartment, eating only absurdly delicious food, drinking fabulous drinks, performing feats of athleticism on a float in the Pride parade, riding the Big Wheel, catching up with a college friend, hanging out on a rooftop, toasting their new digs, brunching, downing mimosas, laughing, relaxing, and shopping the same Goodwill twice.
I am so lucky, grateful, and happy. Also, the Pacific Northwest is still awesome.
Gchat Seattle Tips (from a gchat convo with a friend):
my fave restaurant there is black bottle (you MUST try the blasted broccoli) but this trip we discovered a new place next door with the best chicken wings I’ve ever had
it’s called Some Random Bar
and on Sunday Funday you flip them for your beer, it only costs a dollar if you win the coin toss
I’ve never had a bad meal in seattle, so you really can’t go wrong
but those two are standouts from all my great meals
…
omg SO easy to take public transit
it’s $3 from the airport to downtown, 39 mins
…
OH AND WE WENT TO BRUNCH at this place called Portage Bay that was phenomenal
it’s ridiculous, with pancakes or french toast you get a trip to the breakfast bar which is just mountains and mountain of berries
and whipped cream and butter
the green chile pork omlette was the best omlette I have ever had
