I’m working on a sweet piece right now about why HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training (hello CrossFit) is so awesome for your body. Naturally, when embarking on an impromptu run on gravel in my vibrams (it’s a long story about parades, mountains, a dehydrated dog, and the St. Regis pool with mini ice-cream cones), I decided to HIIT it up.
7 cycles: 2 minutes running, 1 minute walking
Finish the out-and-back run with 1 minute on, 30 seconds off, for a total of 27 minutes. Probably made it a little over three miles, which would be slightly more than 8 minute miles … because the runs were faster than my regular pace and the walking wasn’t slow, it was a stride.
It was a beautiful run down highway 82 on the East of Aspen trail, all the way to Kevin Costner’s house. 🙂
