Why is it that when lifters want to get lean or even just skinny, they start spinning?
Cardio? But what specifically about spinning makes it better cardio than anything else?
I don’t know. But will tell you that I. Hate. Spin.
But I have been going consistently, and, well, it works. If you wanna be lean, apparently you have to spin.
Or stop drinking wine.
So I spin.
SPIN Recs in O.C.:
- Full Psycle (HB, Costa Mesa) – Competitiveness: Engage! All your stats are posted up on the monitors, and everything is a race. If you’re competitive, you’re working way harder than you even want to because you just. can’t. help. wanting. to. beat. that. other. guy.
- GRIT (Costa Mesa) – Energetic, fun, no monitors. “Dance party on a bike” says my friend who used to CrossFit, now spins, and is skinnier than she’s ever been.
- SoulCycle (NB – Fashion Island) – Therapy on a bike, with dancing, but somehow more emotions fall out of you. I don’t get the magic and neither does anyone else, but if you’ve had a bad day, here’s probably where you want to be. “Sometimes it’s the best $30 I spend all day” says my sensitive yet badass friend—wait, are you spending $30/day regularly?
