With a public blog, I feel pressure to share something about the racism and subsequent protests going on in our world right now, rather than simply sharing links that might make your individual life better. But, while compassion is the goal and support is the action, equality is my fight but I acknowledge that this is not. My stance includes but is not limited to supporting: seeing, acknowledging, and appreciating differences, being an outspoken advocate against wrongs of all kinds, and figuring out how to better systems that are in place to protect people.
Nonetheless, #BlackLivesMatter
- For one of my clients, I wrote this post of resources.
- Defunding the police is not the answer; police reform is. Campaign Zero has the most thoughtful, actionable policy items I’ve seen.
- Austin Black-owned business to support
- Not in Austin? Find your local on Black Wall Street
Workouts
- We know I love Keaira Lashae. We know I’m trying to learn to dance. This video had me sweating and laughing. Twerk at your own risk, kids—and if the painters next door suddenly start “cleaning” their supplies suspiciously by your window, it’s really no different than you dancing at a club…
Ecomm & Wine
- If ya gonna order wine, try Richard Betts’ French Essential rosé, at under-$10 bottle (after adding shipping), donating all profits to the NAACP.
- OR shop wine by a black winemaker at Maison Noir Wines (Oregon!)
Week 11. Week 10. Week 9. Week 8. Week 7. Week 6. Week 5 here. Week 4 here. Week 3’s here. Week 2’s here. There is no Week 1 because we didn’t know back then.
