I am crying with laughter at this new company I just discovered (ok, discovered isn’t exactly right, as the not-unattractive founder emailed* me … so here we are).
The ATX Pinery features screenprinted tees with silly/fun pineapple designs—livin’ la pura piña vida, if you will. I love it because it’s hilarious, they love pineapple puns—PINEAPPLE PUNS, y’all!—and the origin story is every bit as silly as you’d expect.
Basically, founder Ross began babysitting his friends’ pineapple crop in 2013. In 2015, this so-called friend decided he wasn’t returning home and told his pineapple-papa-pal, “They’re your babies now.” Ross then finds an engagement ring with no owner and sells it (to a buddy, hopefully not the same), for the ahem seed money to launch ATX Pinery Story.
