Only because my google stats are telling me that everyone is getting to the blog via last year’s post, so I figured I needed to update it.
Go here for a hilarious article on alternative Valentine’s Day ideas. Bonus points if you can figure out which suggestion was mine …
As for me? I’ve got only one suggestion:
Gourmet Conversation Heart Cookies from Williams-Sonoma
The grown-up version of middle school’s colored candies in a paper box, Williams-Sonoma’s fresh butter and eggs, Nielsen-Massey vanilla and Guittard cocoa confections have all the charm of the schoolgirl original with a grown up flair. Available here, 8 cookies for $19.50.
Oh, fine, I’ll give you one other idea: last year the Vermonster and I implemented a fun tradition. On the 13th, we went out for the traditional Valentine’s dinner (“my date”) at Olivia (now open for lunch on the weekend! awesome!), and on the actual day of the Valentine, we stayed in (“his date”). It relieved some of the traditional pressure, and we had a lot of fun both nights.
Oh, and you need to Sweat with Your Sweetheart.
Oh, and I really wish I could go on a girl date to see Valentine’s Day (sorry, Tolly, I really do want to see it!) and drink wine and be with my besties.
So I guess I am gonna post on Valentine’s Day.
