Did y’all notice I missed last week’s FGF? I was in full Bachelorette mode. It was a smashing success, if I do say so myself—and I do. Five days (world’s longest bachelorette party) of girl time with hilarious shenanigans, deck dance parties, champagne, amazing food, yoga, and endless hugs and kisses. More posts to come on the planning aspects so you too can plan an Austin bachelorette party should you so desire, but suffice it to say that it was EPIC.
And, of course, my bestie is the best.
In a dramatic turn of events, I started my new job the day after the bachelorette party!
I. Love. It. The company is awesome, the role is awesome, the people are awesome. The first week is always a bit getting-to-know-you chill, but I expect the chillness to thaw extremely quickly—and I’m excited for it.
In my one yoga class between bachelorette and new beginning, the instructor said, “Too often we focus on each pose, but don’t pay attention to the transitions. Give yourself grace and loving kindness in the transitions.”
Boy did I need to hear that. I almost always take on too much, and the first-ever panic attack I suffered the night before Starting Day is an testament to that. For the rest of the week, I just tried to practice loving kindness in the transitions: long walks with Nali, healthy foods, lots of sleep, little social contact. Grace and grace period.
