BUT FIRST, all the details about my art show in a couple of weeks! Mark your calendars now for Nov 12 & 13 to check out rad art and sip radder wine. And hang out with me.
Which I am grateful for, obviously. The recognition for the third year in a row – as long as I have been painting – is incredibly gratifying and humbling.
(Un)speaking of gratitude, I’m finding it hard to put into words what it meant to spend time with my marriage certificate trio last week. The wife ran to me and wouldn’t let go, and it flooded me with an immediate sense of love, belonging and, of course, happiness. We could have seen each other the night before—for all that had changed for us, none had changed between us. I’m tearing up writing this, as those precious days together just made me miss them more. I am so lucky.
And to get to bring someone into that fold … he immediately knew how special these framily friendships are to me, to future us. We also brought back a metric ton of wine, to share and savor those memories.
There’s more, so much more, there’s the new relationships building at work, the warmest welcome to a company, impromptu house guests last night, football, a half date’s tea, so many boxes, yet there’s also more to run off to: a Paul Cauthen concert, camping, rearranging my office to accommodate the new situation … today, we settle for done being better than perfect or even close to all-inclusive. I am so grateful.
