Because it took two months to pick a birthday present (this Heist leather bar necklace & fringe cuff), I started this list in November—and also because, well, I maybe went a little overboard shopping for the house and need to curb my spending stat. We’ll just rely on the promise of Christmas gifts to keep me in check …
But first, wine. I’m thrilled with both Austin Winery & Dry Farms wines, but as far as coffee table books go I can’t imagine one much cooler than the whopping 1,280-page Wine Grapes: A Complete Guide to 1,368 Vine Varieties, Including Their Origins and Flavours ($135!).
In the market for new workout/life kicks … considering:
- No Bull – the crossfit community loves these (all-black, $130)
- Veja – sustainable, organic cotton, under the radar but I loves these (white velcro, gold stars, snow iceberg!! the deeper I go the more I find that I want, 110 euros)
- Vessi – Waterproof and breathable! $109 kickstarter
The Grown-Up Version of the Backpack Purse I already own: at Nordy’s, naturally. $80
Blankets… because hyyge? Why am I suddenly so obsessed with blankets?
- Anthropologie pom blankets: loving this All Roads blanket ($148, really I wanted the All Roads Baja but it’s sold out) and this Heradia blanket ($128) and this Jess Feury blanket ($118).
- Fuzzy Urban Outfitters blanket ($59)—there are matching pillows too.
- I love Nipomo blankets ($84) but I’m not convinced they’re worth their price tag given that I have an upcoming trip to Mexico…
Linen Bedding: Been obsessed for awhile, haven’t figured it out, kind of burnt out because towel saga, but if anyone wants to drop 5 hundo on this absolutely gorgeous Coyuchi linen comforter for me, I’ll absolutely take it (I can’t imagine it’s truly worth $498 though?!).
Yoga Challenge supplies: Because teeki & Outdoor Voices were both a bust and I can’t really wear athleta ALL the time… although I DO wear leggings almost all the time…
- Niyama Sol – these are still made of recycled fabrics but my yoga-instructor-friend swears they fit like a glove ($88). 20% off with my referral code.
- YogaClub – we know I love a good subscription box (RIP ellie), although I don’t usually stay subscribed for more than a couple months. This box includes three pieces by “premium brands” of which Threads 4 Thought is the least premium and their stuff is cute even if it’s sold next to the prepared dinners at Whole Foods (and there’s nary a Marika logo in sight THANKGOODNESS). $79 / OR $59 for life with this link! OR a free pair of leggings added to your first box with this link!
- Girlfriend Collective – My “free” pair of black recycled bottle leggings have a been a staple for years, could the Citrine also be in regular rotation? Tanzanite? Rose quartz? ($68, and their $28 tees look cute too)
Soup Pot, because I managed to lose my one-million-pound cast iron one in the move.
Ridge Merino: this wool tank $40 (for performance) and midlayer $70 (for ski) and hoodie $100 (unclear why) are from a new Mammoth Lakes company, which I would never claim as my home mountain but I do have a teeny, tiny bit of affection for it so might as well support its homegrown wool company.
Hotels? I don’t need a whole hotel, just a night or two at any of the Mountain Collective destinations 😉 High on my list? Big Sky in Montana, Jackson Hole in Wyoming, and Banff/Lake Louise in Canada. Because in the end, experiences really are better than things.
