So I went to an Acton MBA luncheon Friday (the entrenpreneurial MBA, they say), and I met some cool people, one of whom runs a list for young professionals called The Outlaw List. His last name is seriously Outlaw–how cool is that?
Anyway, the list is all about networking–apparently Mr. Outlaw himself is a networker extraordinaire (and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting him, so I’d believe it) and is all about getting people in Austin connected to others. I’m for it!
The other thing I wanted to write about, that I saw in The Outlaw List email but also have been thinking about for a few weeks now, is Summer Mash Austin. Mashable.com is THE site for social networking news, and they host a social-networking get-together in select cities around the country, Austin being one of them. It’s this coming Wednesday at Buffalo Billiards. The $18 ticket includes bar food, drink tickets, chances to play games like Wii and Rock Band (is that still cool enough for people to advertise it?), and the priceless opportunity to meet other cool Mashables people (nerds).
Seriously, I’m really excited for the event. It’s like a night of SXSW interactive in July instead of March. Even if you’re busy this Wednesday, make sure to check out mashable.com for all your social networking news … it’s not geeky, it’s the future. 😉
