For a video interview (peep it here) for EndlessBeauty.com, a colleague and I hit up My Fit Foods, who is sponsoring us for two weeks of our Extreme Body Challenge. In Austin, My Fit Foods was quickly a big hit with the CrossFit community but has recently faced some fierce competition from the likes of Snap Kitchen, Simply Fit Foods, and Tasty Healthy Meals, all prepared foods billed as healthy.
I’ve talked a lot about my commitment to grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, and wild-caught salmon. So when looking at prepared foods, these are non-negotiables for me. My Fit Foods uses free-range chicken, but does not offer grass-fed beef. They did say that they get the highest quality beef. Herein lies the rub: beef that isn’t grass fed is NOT high quality. It simply lacks in the nutrients that grass-fed beef does. I’d rather have a grass-fed sirloin than a grain-fed filet mignon. I’d argue that the former would TASTE better, despite the latter’s “quality.”
Bottom line: EAT GRASS-FED BEEF. Here’s more on why:
