you are my celebrity

Monday’s Agenda

A rundown of my SXSW affairs… luckily, a good friend is a teacher and has Spring Break this week, so I have a constant partner in crime. Unlike Wednesday on, today will mostly feature night parties. My first priority is getting into the Forgetting Sarah Marshall premiere, because it’s just downright ironic how much the movie’s premise mirror’s said friend’s life and my own–but in opposite ways. Unfortunately, we don’t have Badges, so we’ll have to wait in line and hope there are seats left. We’re getting there an hour early, and it’s raining. Ugh.

After that, or if it fails, we’ll be hitting up the PhizzPop party at Maggie Mae’s, and then we’re going to try to weasel our way into the Adobe Sneak Peek Party, 8pm11pm at the Dirty Dog, where we can “Get an inside look at how Adobe is powering the future of entertainment at the Sneak Peek Party of Adobe Media Player. Join the excitement of the event with FREE gifts, FREE food, FREE drinks, skateboarding tricks, celebrity appearances, and a surprise musical act you won’t want to miss!”

Another possibility is the Next New Networks Presents “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!” from 8pmmidnight at Cedar Street, where we can see/play in “All-Star Rock Band Showdown starts at 10pm, live music follows by The Vettes and Brenn. Come watch some of your favorite SXSW all-stars play Rock Band at the Cedar Street Courtyard. Get there early with a team to enter yourself in the showdown. Then SXSW showcase bands The Vettes and Brenn take the stage to close out the night!” Rock Band has officially become 2008’s Guitar Hero.

There’s also a Rock Bands Rock Opera at Stubb’s, that might be a long-walk-last-resort. Looks like Monday is the the night of the Rock Band. Does that mean I should dress like a rocker?
