Mesh. Gets Me Every Time.

Maybe it’s the years of basketball indelibly searing a love of mesh into my soul, maybe it’s the sexy factor of skin + air, maybe it’s the contrast—or confluence—of sport and fashion, but I freakin’ love mesh. I love it in athletic clothes, in casual clothes, in fancy clothes. I love it in small patterns and big, open weaves. Mesh gets me every freakin’ time.

In an effort to support my beach-livin’ lifestyle, I’m constantly toying with canceling my Ellie subscription (here’s my review). I don’t NEED any more athletic clothes, and as I pointed out last week I wear a few faves over and over again anyway. But … those shorts I wear over and over again? <— Ellie. They’ve been in constant rotation since I received them just a few months ago (mini-review: very flattering waistband and cut but VERY short. I don’t mind this but fair warning.). I can’t bear to do it because every time I order “my last” order, something new and must-have arrives. The sports bra, which was annoying because I couldn’t see the back online but I bought anyway in the end, is super soft and very flattering, with a sassy back. I watched the June “California Dreams” collection—see, killing me from the get-go!—video thinking oh good, I don’t see anything I really like … until :29.

Mesh.

Really soft-looking, really sexy-looking MESH.
