As the former thisislifeinaustin, I still get a fair amount of Austin news, and I often wish I was in town for the fun. Despite the fact that my 10-year high school reunion is next week (what?! and does that warrant its own post??), I won’t be coming home til December. However, were I in town this weekend I would probably be simultaneously thrilled and annoyed with the first Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix race in Austin.
36,000 visitors are expected to fly into ABIA today. Just today!
Anyway, if you’re staying on the outskirts of the madness, here are two cool things you can do at two shopping meccas in opposite directions of town—and get free stuff while you’re at it!
1. H&M’s Grand Opening at the Domain, Saturday at noon
Opening Saturday, November 17th at noon, H&M at The Domain will offer the first 500 shoppers in line an H&M t-shirt and Access to Fashion Pass, valued from $10 to $500. One lucky winner will receive an All Access Fashion Pass, allowing them early entry into the store before the doors open to the public.
Store hours will be Monday through Saturday 10am to 9pm and Sunday noon to 6pm

2. VERTS Kebap offers FREE entrees to anyone who stops by on Saturday
The Hill Country Galleria welcomes a new restaurant called Verts Kebap, owned and operated by two young German UT graduates. VERTS Kebap serves up the Berlin-inspired Doner Kebap which simply consists of bread, meat, veggies, and sauce. VERTS also serves local draft beer on tap, and any side dish you may want with your entrée will be available for purchase.
