In principle, I do NOT support bottled water: Water is Water! That’s what reusables are for! They just bottle tap anyway!
I spend a lot of time with someone who refuses to drink tap. It’s so SoCal. I poke fun, being the dirty hippie all into conserving our use of plastics. But.
I confess that I am slightly addicted to AquaHydrate, because we have cases of it at the office and I get to drink it on special occasions and the bottle is SO STURDY even though it says on the bottle not to refill it (weird). I’m almost ashamed to admit that it turns out I love to drink bottled water and you can actually taste a difference! Shhhhhhh.
I’d just been experiencing this metamorphosis of conscious and conscience when a new water bottle company, Treeson, contacted me.
Treeson has just under a month left to fund on their exceptionally well-designed Kickstarter page, which managed to enthrall me enough that I read the whole thing. If you wanna know, go: treesonwater.com
Basically, Treeson’s bottles are both reusable and recyclable—but they recycle them by having you mail them back for free and they reuse the bottles in their processing plant that emits only 5% waste—outside of Houston, Texas (god I love Texans). The bottles are leaf-shaped but flatten to be mailed back (or reused, remember vapur?!), plant-based, toxin free, GMO free, labels are 100% post-consumer paper and printed with soy ink.
Then there’s the water. This could be a load of crap, but don’t you want to buy this crap?! If you can sell water to a fish … “We start with the worlds finest spring water. We then purify it via a system modeled after how water is filtered in the rainforest canopy. We then add back the vital nutrients and the electrolytes lost during purification, replacing them to help balance your body’s natural performance. We also add oxygen to return it to the state it was in at the source, giving your body a boost of natural Rainforest energy. There is nothing else out there like it.”
Also, they allege that dogs choose spring water over tap in taste tests … Nali has compeleted one taste test but more research and study are needed … report coming soon.
THEN, they also plant one tree for every bottle sold.
I mean. If this thing works, it’s gonna be amazing. No word on what the retail price of a bottle will be … $17/bottle?! It’s worth a shot, support their kickstarter (16 days to go) here: treesonwater.com
