I haven’t run long distances in quite some time–CrossFit says I don’t have to, after all. But on vacation, I gotta get in what I can, so when Caitlin asked if anyone wanted to go on a long run this morning, I volunteered myself. She woke me up at 6:40am. I do not get up early.
Wearing my dunks, which are not distance running shoes, we did about 7 miles along the Wilamette River (pictured). Running has always come pretty easily to me, and this run was true to that form … easy kinesthetically, in that putting one foot in front of the other at a pretty slow pace isn’t hard, but it was mentally challenging to do the same thing for almost an hour … that’s part of why we all love CrossFit — that constantly varied thing keeps us engaged.
We finished up the run with 1/2 tabata (4 rounds) of pushups, situps, squats, and lunges. 😉
