The puppy and I don’t live in Long Beach, so I guess we can’t technically staycation there. But given that it’s basically Orange County, I think we’re still good on calling what we did last weekend a staycation. Basically, we escaped the motel we’ve been living in (I guess also technically a staycation of sorts…) and stayed with a friend in his beautiful, clean, airy apartment. He wasn’t even there most of the time, so we did a lot of this: 
And when he, in a perfectly reasonable manner of someone who pays the rent at said apartment, came home with his (our) friends after a day of golfing, we looked appropriately perturbed at the interruption to our Nashville-Chicago P.D.-Chicago Fire—yes we watched all those shows—marathon.
We didn’t just lump around on our staycation, though. I played in a women’s turf football tournament that is always incredibly fun, and we walked around exploring Belmont Shores too. I even got to have a Mexican Mocha from Viento y Agua, an amazing coffeeshop I hardly ever get to go to (you know, because it’s in Long Beach).
So we are grateful for our staycation (and the obviously great person who made it possible).
