Aaaaaand I wrote last Thursday:

It is almost certain I will forget to post FGF from Merida, Mexico, where I will be tomorrow on the eponymous Friday, so let’s post on my birthday Thursday, shall we? I’m prepping for a small bday party at my parents’ house, casual wine and pizza I keep saying, but we all know how that will go. Loads of laughter, great conversation, too much food because I came by how I entertain honestly (mama), too much wine because see point one, a wonderful group of friends. I can’t wait.

I can’t wait to see what 38 holds, either. 37 was SUCH a whirlwind. We’ll review my 38 before 38 list later (there’s just too much to do this week, and I’m grateful for that) but I just couldn’t be more grateful for the intense year this has been. Serious highs and lows, but 37 has always been one of my favorite numbers, and I will always remember it as the year of my future…

  • My handsome helpful humanitarian warrior <3
  • My executive career, taking on more responsibilities, departments, and ownership
  • My body – nothing like tearing your achilles to make you impossibly grateful for the health you do have

As for the past couple of weeks, so many things to be grateful for there too …

  • 4 out of 5 K-sibs, porch party, late-night wine, SUPs and hilarious east side hops
  • Tulsa, shockingly enough we had two GREAT meals there (at Lowood – trendy, and Tropical – incredible Thai) and I had one of the coolest wines I’ve had in awhile: a skin-contact Gewurztraminer from Paso Robles, all words I never expected to see together, much less ALL together! We also had this lovely beaujolais with dinner, from a female winemaker (can you tell I LOVED the somm at Lowood??)
  • Chicago … I love that city. My handsome humanitarian warrior joined me and we spent a wonderful day exploring the city before heading to the burbs to hang with Teasy and fam.
  • Throwback Friday shenanigans with Teasy at the delicious Lyra … like being in Aspen ten years ago.

Blogging gets away from me yet again…
