Admittedly, California weather is perfect. It’s late July, the flowers are blooming, the breezes are blowing, and it’s just absolutely wonderful to be outside.
It’s enough to make me miss living in Newport. Of course, living in Newport gave me my best friends in the whole world, so I will always be beyond grateful for my five years there. But I don’t usually miss it.
On a walk through Redondo this morning, I ran into a Gratitude Garden. A gratitude garden! What a way to kick off a long weekend with friends, with nothing on the agenda but eating sushi, shopping for ‘kinis, and lazing on the beach.
It’s a much-needed respite. I’ve been moving a mile a minute between intense work challenges, travels (yeah, I get it, this is travel too), and wedding planning (!!!), I just need some down time. On a beach. 🙂

- even in all this insane heat, things are growing! we are growing!
- texts with my marriage certificate trio wife – who I am infuriated for but personally so grateful for
- wedding dress shopping with my mama and sis-in-law – the place and experience was terrible but the fun with the fam made it all worth it
