In my little life, I can walk to the beach, across the street. I can walk to a corner store for something I forgot or a hungover house guest might need, or to one of three excellent restaurants when I’m hungry (Eat Chow ANYtime, Cucina Alessa for fancy, and where would I be without Cappy’s vegetarian skillet on Sunday mornings?). In my little life, I can bike to the gym, the crossfit gym, the yoga studio, two good grocery stores, and plenty of my favorite bars and restaurants. I can bike to play football and sand volleyball in HB. In my little life, I can even bike to work—for a week straight. And there’s a bike repair guy within walking distance.
I might complain about the culture of driving in Orange County (or Long Beach), but from my sweet spot in Newport Shores, I’m grateful for my little life.
