Lady (and Bob) of Leisure | Feel Good Friday 040425

I’m grateful for a busy week, despite the perception of me as a current lady of leisure …

… who is doing the family’s taxes, preparing for a remote car purchase out of state with registration and insurance in another state, planning a bunch of other family stuff, doing a budget—the work really never ends, even if the traditional employment does. But this weekend: TWO STEP INN. There isn’t an hour of the schedule that I don’t want to see someone. I am so excited.

I am SO grateful for a family heirloom gift I received on a lovely Thursday afternoon. It is so sweet and exciting and I can’t wait to wear it ALL THE TIME in memory of my beloved grandma. I am also wearing my grandpa’s watch, which is really neat. I might have found out that it’s not waterproof, though …

I am grateful for time.

I am grateful for old friends and colleagues – I had a fabulous dinner with an old boss whose wine I still keep on a shelf for him here at my house, and the connections that stay strong like that are just so wonderful.

I am grateful for a virtual showering of gifts and treats on Monday, from current colleagues who will certainly turn into friends.

I am grateful for a fabulous engagement party for our fabulous friends in a fabulous gown!

I am grateful for a Mon-Tues weekend with porch sitting, pizza, happy hours and bopping around, because my helpful handsome humanitarian warrior husband is working SO hard and long hours and we got a random weekday off together, which was such a treat.

I am grateful for spring wine club deliveries, where I get to “play” with wine – labeling it with my label-maker, deciding what to age, what to “age”, where to store it … it’s fun.

I am grateful for Bob, who is often a dick, but I just love him so damn much.

He’s pretty good to leisure with, too.

I am grateful for Urban Pilates, and yoga, and the garage gym, and short walks, and rain and storms. For budgeting apps and TurboTax and plumbagos and the shade from the tree that we are likely going to have to cut down and the anticipation of a cowboy pool summer with a fancy new umbrella and all the fun things that are coming up in the next two weeks!!!
