Like my old neighbor in Aspen who woke up every morning, walked out onto his balcony, and sighed “Just another terrible day in paradise!”, so it is about adventuring with my friends.
Honest question: Does everyone have it this good with their friends? Like, every trip we—whatever combination of my friends that “we” includes—take is amazing. They’re always different, and always epic. This one included an amazing time on an alpaca farm and lots of friend’s family time, which I love. I love people sharing their families! When your friends are your family, it feels only right you know theirs too.
These adventures did not make for such a glowingly wonderful Monday as I flew coast to coast, landing with just enough time to go for a run that ended at Target to buy new pants (grateful for their excellent selection of workwear which while I linked to it, I hate their website with a vengeance and feel like it literally never works properly) for my workshop the next day before meeting with the client for a (long) dinner. A successful workshop and late flight home, and my exhausting travel week was done.
The exhaustion wouldn’t stop though, as both Nali and I hit doctors—she STILL DOESN’T HAVE CANCER! Though now we’re apparently battling arthritis but what 13-year-old pup isn’t? Also so much gratitude for Paz Vet (3 locations in Austin), just the most intelligent, thoughtful, thorough vet I’ve ever met in Dr. Julien, and the friendliest, happiest vet techs and front desk staff of ever.
Also grateful for: my coworker travel buddy, dinner with my aunt and uncle, a My Favorite Grandma troll, a Wednesday night charcuterie board, my new set of faux fur pillows from Costco, catch up calls and gchats, and the Happy Body, Happy Mind challenge at BFree yoga, which is my connection to the Shakti challenge my bestie is doing simultaneously! Oh, also, I freakin’ love my house. And I’m grateful for the colder weather.
