Per usual as is my brain’s great irony, the title of this post was written BEFORE I forgot to publish it all weekend … it’s a lot to keep up with a weekly gratitude list for almost a decade. But I love it, and it’s important to me, and it’s definitely made my life better and happier. So better late than never, something I’ve said too many times this summer 🙂
Work is a lot. Friends are a lot. Sports are a lot. And it’s all amazing that there’s that much LOT!!!
Last weekend already feels like it was years ago. Did a Hula Hut/Deep Eddy Friday night, my fave tourist combo. Did an epic party barge with 137 new friends, and an equally epic photo shoot…
Perhaps the most fun of the week is the thing I’m most grateful for: my family, and this compound. Neighbros were in my house most of the week while work was being done on their house, and it was one big fun staycation if said staycation involves long work days and intense conversations. But the best of it was more time with the fam before the baby comes!!
Also my brother’s insight is unparalleled … I couldn’t explain why I didn’t want to go to volleyball on Wednesday, and he helped me put into words: I didn’t want to perform any more. My work week was intense and performance-focused, and I just couldn’t execute sports in the same way. So I didn’t. And I was SO grateful.
Then I drove to Houston and spent the entire traffic-filled time working from the car, but the trip was absolutely worth it in the end.
That’s for next Feel Good Friday, though. Let’s pretend I keep my schedule, shall we?
