I LOVE TODAY.
I LOVE TODAY!!!
I started contemplating getting a basketball hoop for the backyard a couple of days ago as I was thinking about how I spent my days in high school (the last time I had this few responsibilities lol). I researched putting it up on the roof, thinking a portable was too expensive and I didn’t have anywhere to put it anyway.
After talking to my dad about how not-feasible it is to mount a hoop to the garage pictured, I went on craigslist and there was one portable basketball goal on the entirety of the Austin craigslist, and it was free. I immediately texted for it, got my dad and his truck, and drove to get it. The man said someone texted ONE MINUTE after me!
It’s missing a backboard, which doesn’t seem like that big of a deal—plywood? Get better at swishes (which I’m already good at duh)? Find a cheap one to replace it? That will all be relatively easy; the hard part is now IN MY DRIVEWAY. I can’t stop shooting. I am so happy right now!
As if today wasn’t good enough … a few days ago, I was online window shopping and saw these adorable brass X coasters and was like, wow those are awesome. Well, turns out pre-quarantine Lyssa was on the same damn page because some that I had ordered from Causebox Marketplace months ago arrived today! (If you don’t subscribe to Causebox, do it. It’s $50/box and worth WAY more, all fair trade, eco-friendly, dirty-hippie-approved brands and very wide range; $10 off with my referral link.) Hiiiii thank you for giving me presents to future me from past me!
AS IF TODAY WASN’T ALREADY GOOD ENOUGH, I started out the morning with the regular long walkabout down Shoal Creek, and then came back for some King Yoga Grateful Dead flow, which was amazing in and of itself but the best part was that I was doing it in the backyard and during savasana it started to mist the lightest, sweetest, magical rain kisses. YOGA MAGIC!
AND LAST NIGHT I finished watching Outer Banks and yes that means I watched 7 eps in one night but it was so good and I was so happy to watch it and it made me happy to love a show that much.
So. I often add to FGF throughout the week, but this past week, I didn’t. Without much going on, it’s hard to sort of outline my week to help myself reflect on the things for which I feel grateful. Which worked out well today, because today is so great!!
Of course, the rest of the week was good too. Good yogas, good workouts, good connecting with friends virtually. Hosted a fantastic, well-planned, really fun CFF Tomorrow’s Leaders happy hour, and Tuesday night friendo facetime was bigger than expected and really great. The weather has been perfectly cool so I’ve spent most of the week outside, walking, working out, or working, and I’ve had wonderful morning walks and lattes with Anderson’s Coffee brewed in my Zojirushi coffeemaker that I love every morning. I am grateful that during this stressful time, my life can be so standard, so normal, so easy (relatively).
AND I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY BASKETBALL HOOP. THANK YOU RANDOM MAN ON CRAIGSLIST FOR MAKING THIS GIRL’S DAY!!
