Y’all know I like my workouts to look like play … Nature’s Garage Gym was my own personal playground, and then I did workouts on an actual playground. Well today I got to return to my roots at the Red Black Gym (nee SicFit) with the 1:15pm class with Big Mike. LOVED IT!
Warmup: lots of silly stretches + jog
2 rounds: band walks sideways and backwards, 25- 40# russian swings, 10 plyo pushups , 10 pistols
Then 10 minutes: 4 chest-to-bar pullups on the minute (I just did regular … I haven’t done a pullup in months since I don’t have a bar at the gym in Aspen)
Then 3 rounds: 2 50# butcher pushes / 15 burpees
THEN 20 Turkish Getups with 40# … I finally got a getup! I mean, clearly I’ve done them before but I never understand the mechanics … until now! I will never forget again 🙂 YAY.
HCG DIET UPDATE (maintenance phase): As for diet, I have still been CRAVING nuts. CRAZY CRAVING. Don’t know why. What was I missing?
I do have a confession: yesterday, I ate some veggie chips. You know, the ones you find in the bulk bins at Central Market or Whole Foods, that are made of root veggies and canola oil? I shouldn’t be eating Canola, and I shouldn’t be eating root veggies until the maintenance phase of this diet is over (2 more weeks!). BUT I really, really wanted them. They are my fave snack to come eat in Austin. So I ate some last night. Kind of a lot. But not a huge amount. Like a cup. This morning, my weight was normal. New normal. So I’m good! YAY! But I’m not going to eat any more veggie chips til after the diet. I hope.
Today I ate some Andouille Buffalo sausage from Natural Grocers. That is my current FAVORITE food. YUM!!
