I’m at the gym tonight working on a 1 rep snatch max so I can partake in a fun CrossFit Austin workout (which, it turns out, I later mangled anyway). A few guys are also in there working out, and they’re not slouches–one of them is doing almost-handstand-pushups suspended from the TRX (the point? not sure. but he’s strong). He comes over and says, “hey, can we snatch with you?”
I have the bar loaded at 99 pounds (yeah, I just had to google my kg conversions), and they come over for a try. With terrible form, they can all muscle it up, but are still duly impressed with my own strength. They leave.
Because of the plates there, my next lift was 111 pounds, which I failed at. They all come back over, and could still all muscle it up. With terrible form.
It was cute that they wanted to snatch. But I didn’t have time to teach them (and I don’t think that’s what they wanted anyway), so they got out of my way and I got down to business.

I laid on the ground after this doozy! It’s a fun one though, try it!
