“Have Fun With Your Rocks”

As I’m setting up Nature’s Garage Gym for my daily WOD, along comes a man walking his dog. Given that I’m 20 feet below the trail on the riverbank, this is sort of surprising, but then, it’s Aspen, and everyone like mini-adventures. I’m toting a flat, 16″x8″ rock, about 30#, overhead, hopping on different rocks, when he walks by.

“Building some cairns?” (the things that point you which way to go when hiking)

“Nah, just working out. These are my weights.”

“Nice … Have fun with your rocks,” he says as he walks away, like this is nothing out of the ordinary.

Nature’s Garage Gym. It’s only natural.

WOD:
5 Rounds, standing on a big rock that slopes slight downward
2 burpees (it’s Day 10 of the 100 Burpee Challenge)
5 uneven pushups (feet on one rock, hands on another, at different heights)
8 overhead weighted lunges, switching legs
10 Rock Swings ~15# rock
Time: 7:25
