It was but a short week, yet this week has brought me so. many. many. opportunities to practice grace.
Yes, you can laugh. But it has! Grace for others, for a situation, for a frustration point … all of which translate back to me, obviously. Grace to myself for how I’m handling something, what it’s triggering in me, and how I believe the way I react reflects who I am. So then I wonder if this is patience in disguise? Patience with myself, patience with others, patience with the process? Because the more quickly I can recover from the reaction, the easier the situation becomes and the more graceful I am.
I am, always, grateful.
But let me also tell you, this week brought me SHENANIGANS to be grateful for!!
The Jersey Four … a hilarious trip besmirched by a deluge of rain did not deter this intrepid quad from laughing all the laughter, starting from a pickup pickup complete with poster, cooler, and pizza to winning arcade games and epic prizes, eating ridiculously amazing seafood, trying all the seltzer we don’t get in the south, doubling up on bagels, and ending with a tour of iconic Irvington capped off by a sit in a Dunkin parking lot. The crew generally just rolling with anything made it the perfect extension of a Costa Rican vacation, proof positive that good people are good people anywhere in the world you find them. And there still does not exist a photo of all four … “I’ll take the sideways rain with you guys here over the sunshine without YALL”!! Playlists, song sends, LOTS of fun.
Grateful for a cotton-candy-eatin’, toy gun ambushing, turn-the-music-up-to-cover-up-farts, overly-early-airport-arriving partner in crime, stirring up trouble with me coast to coast.
Also grateful for a neighbro fashion stop-by, potential setup action, volleyball, muscle soreness courtesy of Regymen, Vanushing, car insurance (someone else’s not mine), a funny tow truck guy in the rain, my yard ALWAYS, conversation nook sits and conversation, my puppy dawg who walked to get coffee with me on Tuesday (!!!) AND came to say hi on a zoom call. I love her.
I’m also so so grateful to the friends I miss but love more than blog words can describe… my newly-Phoenixed friends dealing with death in the fam, my marriage certificate trio, my bromance and his busted knee, my lil baby cousin and my other favorite cousins, my friends with babies I haven’t met yet but hope to meet soon …
