So I’ve been talking about free, non-drinking things to do, and I discover this round of Movies in the Park. It makes me laugh, though, because it’s the first I’ve heard of extraordinarily girly movies being shown in parks. Normally movies that appeal to both sexes are the ideal, but I guess we’ll see if this ends up being popular!

Excitement, adventure and the Nintendo DS await at Republic Square Park this summer! Bring a blanket and your best friends for a perfect ladies’ night activity. Come early to grab a seat and play the hottest games on the Nintendo DS for free. Here’s the lineup:

Movies start at dusk (around 9 pm). Pre-show entertainment begins at 7 PM, including:
- Nintendo DS demonstrations
- info and giveaways from Austin Parks Foundation
- raffles and prizes galore
- vendors will be Amy’s Ice Cream and The Hot Dog King of Austin (offering hot dogs and veggie dogs!)

Republic Square Park is located at 5th and Guadalupe St. There is free parking on surrounding streets. Dogs, picnics, and lawn chairs are welcome.
So grab your girls, your pups, and a blanket for a girls’ night in the park?! I’d be down. But only with a refreshing bottle of Master Cleanse lemonade …
