This afternoon, Friday June 13th, Seventh Street Yoga (quite literally on 7th between West & Rio Grande) will be open from 4-7pm and offering a complimentary yoga class at 5pm. You can also shop–their boutique carries the exclusive collection from Zobha, as well as lululemon and Hardtail Forever.
I think this is the class they are offering:
Anusara or Flow
Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “flowing with Grace,” “going with the flow,” “following your heart.” Founded by John Friend in 1997, Anusara Yoga is a powerful hatha yoga system that unifies a Tantric philosophy of intrinsic Goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment™.Currently, Anusara Yoga is one of the most popular and fastest growing yoga styles in the world.
Each class will have a different theme, centering around the Anusara method of Universal Principles of Alignment, for example, one class will focus on alignments in forward bend postures, another class will focus on alignments in standing postures, etc. Each class will begin with an Anusara invocation, a beautiful spiritual song as a devotional recognition of the universal Spirit within and around us, and end with Savasana or meditation.
I’ve missed Bikram Yoga since I haven’t been in two weeks, and I can’t decide if this will make me sadder going … but it is super-convenient, being downtown and all. If only I had a bike …
