Even for a healthy person the turnaround between ten days in Mexico and a conference in Chicago would have been difficult, for a person who caught her second case (or more likely never truly rid herself of the first) of Montezuma’s revenge PLUS a cold or sinus infection of some kind, this turnaround is brutal. Yet here I am, on a plane to a city I’ve been dying to visit instead dying for a hotel bed and some room-darkening curtains rather than exploring the bean and pizza (what else do they do in Chicago?).
Nonetheless, we’ll focus this gratitude-filled Feel Terrible Monday on the phenomenal weekend in Mexico City and amazing past week in Sayulita getting my fraaaands hitched. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and the sun-soaked days filled with old friends and new, camaraderie, and shenanigans. And lots and lots of pool and beach time.
Grateful for:
- bestie gettin’ married! Getting to be a maid of honor <3
- the Koi Pond room … easily the best and most hilarious of the compound
- my emotional support animal (human)
- my parents taking care of my real emotional support animal—and picking me up at the airport with her with a bow that said HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY on it!
- the ability to travel
- handmade pasta (must learn how to do this myself)
- the green smoothie that gave me life (Orangy in Sayulita)
- my normal health (always called to light when I’m sick)
