Feel Good Friday is a gratitude list I’ve written once a week for OVER THREE YEARS (170+- posts). It’s time for a format change—I’ll key in on one thing each week I’m incredibly grateful for, and end each post with a list if necessary. Join me and leave anything you are grateful for in the comments!
The first full week of 2015 has been wonderful, I think because I set myself up for victory: I got to relax in the new year weekend (Game of Thrones marathon … entire first season in 24 hours?!) and food prep on Sunday, so meals have been a breeze this week. It’s a simple reminder of why people thrive on routine—I typically do not—but there are ways I can incorporate routine into my life to make it easier. I made a new chili recipe (veggies instead of beans), eggplant sweet potato lasagna, chocolate zucchini muffins, protein snickerdoodle cookies in a snowflake design with my new cookie press, and of course my weekly big lunch salads. Having this delicious, nourishing food ready for myself all week makes it much easier to stick to my healthy eating goals, and fuel my hard workouts. I’ve hit some big numbers in the gym lately that I’m very proud of, and I want to continue that progress!
I had an aha! moment a few weeks ago at the gym: “I’d take that body,” I thought … about myself, in the mirror. You got it, sista.
I also cannot wait to receive this Christmas present from my grandma: the Athleta stripes capris I’ve been coveting were released in an even cooler color combo (navy+green)—so glad I never bought the original ones I was lusting after!
Overall I’m grateful for: health, wellness, this body <3
A lil’ gratitude list: job flexibility; the Jeeps R Us cafe—that is, two benches outside where you can still get the repair shop’s wireless; vinyasa with MJ at Ekam; Restoratives with Alysa at Ekam; the 12 gym; efares; girlfriends; beach volleyball; GoT; CrossFit Football.
