As Austin, and Texas in general, opens back up, I’m taking it slow. So this weird series will continue, and this is what kept me covidtained? this week. Week 7. Week 6. Week 5 here. Week 4 here. Week 3’s here. Week 2’s here. There is no Week 1 because we didn’t know back then.
Workouts…
- I am now physically capable of L-sit pressing a cinder block, thanks Third Monkey. Skills you never know you needed … or wanted …
- I am also ALMOST physically capable of touching my forehead to the ground in a seated straddle, a thing I never thought I would be able to do, nor am I sure that it means anything that I might be able to. But I do love me some yoga.
Therapy Thursday
- Love this article: Nobody Knows What is Going On.
- Then, because all we can do is make the best choices we can for ourselves, it means there are a lot of things requiring thoughtfulness right now. It can be exhausting to consider so much, and to make really careful choices.
Community
- I met some friends in the park for Cinco de Mayo and it made my heart so happy. I hope we continue to spend this much time outside! Recommend: the possibly-awkward-but-isn’t-at-all physically distant park hang.
- Austin is great. Yallmanac catalogs that greatness.
Entertainment
- Becoming. Trying to knock out the book so I can watch the docuseries.
- Never Have I Ever. Mindy Kaling’s binge-able (30 min eps!) teen series SO YOU KNOW I LOVE IT on Netflix.
- Hilarious free feminist coloring book from Get Bullish.
Ecomm & Wine
- A fabulous traveler friend of mine just launched an amazing online shop called Found Elsewhere. In a time when we can’t physically travel, her dreamy photos and carefully curated collection of goods is the perfect antidote. Check it out here.
- Welp, now obsessed with Elden Selections and need to stay at Domaine de Cromey.
- Austin Winery, perennial fave of mine, just released this year’s Cinsault which is my absolute favorite summer red. Need to go stock up!
